EMDR and EFT are therapies that work on the premise that trauma and strong emotions are stored in our bodies or energy systems.  Both therapies work to release these emotions and experiences.

EMDR utilizes a structured therapy process combined with bilateral stimulation, such as moving the eyes left to right and back again, or hearing a sound alternately in the left and right ears.  There is a great deal of evidence demonstrating the effectiveness of EMDR in addressing trauma and symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).  For more information on EMDR go to

EFT utilizes tapping on certain meridian points on the body while focusing on a specific feeling or sensation.  It is easily learned and appears to be a very effective way to process many difficult feelings.  For more information on EFT go to

EFT and EMDR are both powerful tools for the therapist and individual.  I have training in both EMDR and EFT and have used them regularly over the years with both adults and children.
